Ventilators for Canadians (V4C)

Ventilators for Canadians was one of four groups awarded contracts by the federal government to supply ventilators to Canadian hospitals in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ventilator design was donated by Medtronic for an older model of ventilator that didn’t use the same parts as their newer models (those parts were in extremely short supply) and Baylis Medical was contracted to manufacture ventilators in Toronto. I oversaw the regulatory and reporting requirements for V4C, who was the first of the 4 groups to begin delivering ventilators to the federal government. As of Dec 30, 2020, all 10,000 ventilators had been delivered.

V4C also responded to an acute medical glove shortage in 2021, for which I had an approved medical licence within three days of the group receiving the contract.
